Eugene F. Rogers

Eugene F. Rogers
Eugene F. Rogers is one of the founders of Rogers Townsend & Thomas law firm located in Columbia, South Carolina.  Rogers Townsend & Thomas is the fifth largest law firm in Columbia with 38 attorneys and 190 total employees.  Mr. Rogers concentrates his practice in family law, civil litigation and aeronautics law.  He is active in professional, civic and miltary organizations.

Personal Information

Mr. Rogers was born in Loris, South Carolina on August 7, 1929. After service in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, he was educated at the University of South Carolina and graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School in 1952. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1952 at age 22. He was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1956 and to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1962.

Mr. Rogers served as an adjunct Professor at the University of South Carolina Law School from 1957 to 1959 and has been published in the South Carolina Law Quarterly. He is a frequent lecturer in Continuing Legal Education seminars sponsored by the South Carolina Bar. He now serves as a Colonel with the South Carolina Military Department.
