J. Mark Taylor has been honored by inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America. His practice primarily involves matrimonial litigation and trial work in addition to dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration. Mr. Taylor has distinguished himself in a wide variety of areas having been admitted to the United States District Court, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

He has held numerous positions affiliated with family law including admission as a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial lawyers where he has been president of the South Carolina Chapter. He has chaired the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association Family Law Section, was chair-elect of the Family Law Section of the South Carolina Bar, chaired the Family Law Committee of Lexington County while also serving as a liaison to the Family Law Committee of Richland County.

Mr. Taylor has been a long-standing member of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association, was former representative to the South Carolina Family Lawyer, and has been appointed to numerous gubernatorial, legislative, bench and bar committees related to family law. He was President of the Lexington County Bar Association. He has been appointed to the South Carolina Bar Fee Disputes Board and as a Special Investigator for the South Carolina Disciplinary Counsel.

Mr. Taylor has authored an article in the Mercer Law Review in 1980 and has been a speaker in over 35 family law continuing legal education programs including judicial conferences and new family court judges schools. He has received the highest individual rating of “AV” in Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
